Eligible PSEA Courses in Singapore 2024: Maximise your funding

What is the Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA)?

The Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) is an initiative by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and is part of the Post-Secondary Education Scheme to help parents finance their children’s post-secondary education. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to making education more affordable and accessible. 


The PSEA is opened automatically for all eligible Singapore citizens, and the balance in the PSEA will earn interest pegged to the CPF Ordinary Account (currently 2.5% per annum).


PSEA funds can be used to repay government education loans, or to pay for approved programmes at approved institutions. Benefits of using PSEA funds for eligible courses

Make the best use of your PSEA funding to further invest in your education, enhance your professional skills and advance your career before the closure of your PSEA.


The PSEA will be closed at around the time the account holder reaches the age of 31. At this point, account holders can opt to retain their PSEA for one more year, transfer the balance to their sibling's PSEA, or donate to the Education Fund. For account holders who do not opt in, their PSEA will be automatically closed and any unused PSEA funds will be transferred to their CPF Ordinary Account (CPF-OA). This transition is irreversible, and once the funds have been moved to the CPF-OA, they are subject to the CPF-OA’s terms of use. Therefore, account holders should strategically plan the use of their unused PSEA funds to maximise their educational benefits before this deadline.

How to use your PSEA funds for course fees

You can apply to use your available PSEA funds or your siblings’ PSEA funds for payment towards Rocket Academy course fees by submitting an ad-hoc withdrawal application. Simply download a copy of the PSEA Ad Hoc Withdrawal form here https://www.moe.gov.sg/-/media/files/financial-matters/psea-ad-hoc-withdrawal-form.pdf  and submit the completed form to us during registration.

Please note that the specific withdrawal amount has to be indicated in the PSEA Ad Hoc Withdrawal form as this is a one-time withdrawal. This offers an account holder greater flexibility in allocating the use of available PSEA funds.

A student may request to deduct funds from up to 3 siblings’ PSEA. However, if the student has a PSEA, deduction will first be made from the student’s own account. To check your PSEA account balance or your siblings’ PSEA account balance, you can call the MOE's 24-hour automated PSEA hotline at 62600777.
